Report: Patriots RB Morris has chest injury

10/17/2007 - Boston, MA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - New England Patriots running back Sammy Morris reportedly injured a bone in his chest during Sunday's 48-27 victory over the Dallas Cowboys and could be sidelined up to a month.

According to the Boston Herald, Morris was injured on the second play of the third quarter when teammate Stephen Neal and Cowboys linebacker Bradie James landed on his chest.

Citing an anonymous source, the newspaper reported that Morris injured the bone connecting the sternum to the clavicle and left the stadium in a sling.

Morris has rushed for 384 yards and three touchdowns in six games for the unbeaten Patriots (6-0) this season. He finished Sunday's game with 14 yards on 10 carries, while replacement Kevin Faulk ended with 50 yards on 13 carries.

According to the report, Morris will definitely miss Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins.
